A determination of the country’s position in the world’s “table of ranks” is a significant task of a national policy and corporate strateging. The country’s rating by this or that indicator is  taken into account in the investment decision formulae by the global market players, influences its reputation, selfidentification and idea of its present and future.

Ratings being formed by a number of organizations are internationally recognizable. However, the ranging issue continues to be complicated both  by the methodology for settlement and information support technologies. Furthermore, the global market of assessments appears more sensible to targeted or random distortions unlike for instance exchange commodities market. The best way to improve the quality of products offered to a consumer is to exclude  monopolism on such market and to encourage the proper level and fair practices of the competition among ratings, thus guaranteeing a freedom of a “consumer’s choice” for persons taking decisions, those who take the ratings as a guide for action. It is exactly such motives that have governed this project of the International League of Strategic Management, Assessment and Accounting (ILSMAA) and International Future Research Academy (IFRA), Institute for Economic Strategies (INES) targeted at a system-based determination of the current and forecasting status of the world’s leading countries by their integral power indicator (IPI).
